Carina Alejandrino Rayo, affectionately known as Jinky Rayo, emerges as a luminary in the realm of watercolor art, her journey marked by a relentless passion for creativity and a commitment to artistic excellence. Hailing from Davao, Jinky embarked on her artistic odyssey in 2012, driven by a profound desire to express herself through the vibrant medium of watercolor.

Despite being self-taught, Jinky’s talent and dedication have propelled her to international acclaim, earning her recognition as an esteemed watercolor artist. Renowned for her versatility, she effortlessly navigates various genres, including still life, landscape, portrait, and abstract art, infusing each piece with a unique blend of emotion and imagination.

Jinky’s artistic prowess has been celebrated through a multitude of exhibitions, with six solo showcases and an impressive tally of 58 local group exhibitions and 46 international group exhibitions held across the globe since 2015. Her captivating compositions and masterful use of color have captivated audiences far and wide, earning her accolades and admiration from fellow artists and art enthusiasts alike.

In 2021 alone, Jinky’s talent was honored with awards in prestigious competitions such as the IWS Singapore and IWS France Pyrenees watercolor exhibitions/competitions. Additionally, her remarkable achievements extend to the International Fine Arts Movement (IFAM) of Malaysia’s International Competition and Exhibition, where she clinched top honors for three consecutive years since 2019, a testament to her enduring excellence and artistic vision.

Beyond her individual accomplishments, Jinky is a trailblazer in the watercolor community, serving as a Founding Member and former President of both the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists and the International Watercolor Society Philippines. Her leadership and dedication have played a pivotal role in fostering camaraderie and collaboration among fellow artists, as well as promoting the appreciation and advancement of watercolor as a vibrant and dynamic art form.
